The Door

Ketamine is an incredible medicine because it gives new, fresh perspectives more gently than other psychedelics, along with a sense of calm and connection. It opens you to new patterns of thought, and motivates you to shift behaviors. Ketamine, with proper guidance, can occasion breakthroughs even in just one session.

This program is a two-week guided group journey. We’ll help you make the most of this powerful experience and tap into the love and support of the deep relational field that groups can create together. We’ll take time to prepare ourselves by building trust, setting intentions, engaging in mindfulness practices, and sharing art and poetry.

You'll be supported all the way by professionals who understand emotions, trauma, protective systems, and how to create real change, even if it means stepping into discomfort.

For many people, this program has been powerful, offering deeper levels of insight and self-understanding.

  • Ketamine is a safe and well-known medicine and currently the only legal psychedelic being used in the United States as an innovative treatment for depression, PTSD, addiction, and some forms of anxiety. It has also been utilized successfully in managing acute and chronic pain conditions due to its analgesic properties.

  • Ketamine has rapidly-acting antidepressant and mood-enhancing effects, which can begin to take effect within 1-2 hrs. after treatment and last for up to 2 weeks. It works by blocking the brain’s NMDA receptors as well as by stimulating AMPA receptors, which are thought to help form new synaptic connections and boost neural circuits that regulate stress and mood. Ketamine has also been shown to enhance overall neuroplasticity for lasting symptom improvement.

  • At lower doses, ketamine can disrupt negative feelings and preoccupations and help the brain create new, healthier patterns. Many describe it as a mental reset. Studies show that 50-70% of patients being prescribed ketamine for depression or anxiety experience a significant reduction in symptoms. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic and participants have a high likelihood of experiencing dissociative effects during the first 2 hours following ketamine administration. Generally, the major impact occurs in the first hour, with full recovery to baseline by 3 hours. Participants may experience an altered mental state, with imaginative stream of associations, sensations and imagery as experienced with psychedelics. Each person reacts in different ways, and we cannot guarantee a specific experience. Our therapists are fully equipped working with non-ordinary states of consciousness and are experienced in dealing effectively with this state. All participants will be prepared for the benefits of these states of being.

  • No experience with psychedelic medicines or Ketamine is necessary for admission. All applications begin with a free screening call with a therapist to determine if Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a good fit for you.  We provide all the preparation that is necessary for safe, healing journeys.

  • Our medical provider will prescribe Ketamine to you after the virtual, medical intake. The medication will be sent to you home address. Other arrangements may be made on an individual basis, e.g. if there is concern for abuse potential. In that case, ketamine may be sent to us.
